Sorry Guys

I am unable to post my purple favorites today because I have run out of time. My fiance has been out of a job since December and we have spent the last couple days taking him to job interviews and drug testing. He starts his new job tomorrow! He also has another interview on tuesday. I work graveyard shift and it is already past my bedtime, therefore I do not have time to edit and post my pictures. Tomorrow you will get both pink and purple! Yay!

Hope you are doing well!

Episode 5: Return of the..Yellow?

Hiya ladies! Today is blue day, but I'm not feeling blue. Annoyed maybe...but that is because of the lingering pain in my stomach and other real world problems, but you don't care about that! Only two days remain of Lacquer Dream's Rainbow themed week of favorites. Today I'm going to spam you with blue bottles! yay!

Army of blue! Looks so peaceful. Blue is very calming for me. I have so many bottles (this barely dents my blue collection) but I rarely wear them. Do you have any like this?

In this photo is Essie Bikini So Teeny, Essie Bobbing for Baubles (looks great with Fingerpaints Motley fyi), Deborah Lippman Let's hear it for the boy, Sinful Colors Cinderella, Sinful Colors Sweet Dreams, Julep Jessica, China Glaze Kinetic Candy, and China Glaze Aquadelic (try mattifying this! is GORGEOUS).

Day 3: Yellow nail craptacular!!

Do you ever have one of those days where every "experiment" you conduct with nail polish just fails? Today was one of those days. I generally tend to avoid yellow polish because of a bad experience I had with staining, and the fact that it gives me some serious lobster hands (trust me, you'll see it). I'm feeling slightly better today apart from some depression (which is pretty normal for me) so I actually tried to paint my nails. But first! Bottle spam of doom!!!!!!

doom

Yep. Out of 300ish bottles of polish that is literally the only yellows I have. One of which I frankened from the dreaded Ulta Sun-sational (I still remember the name because of the horror I faced every time I looked at it. The staining was THAT bad!) You may recognize the Seche bottle I used to franken a mustard-y yellow. The color in these pics aren't that accurate, everything is definitely more yellow and less brown. Above is: Sally Hansen Instadri Ex-presso Yellow, China Glaze Celtic Sun, Sinful Colors Unicorn, Fingerpaints Lemon Sour, My franken, and Sinful Colors Firefly.

I'm reluctant to even post the pictures of my manicure, but for a good laugh and to show you how awful yellow looks on me I will post them anyway.

This is three coats of Fingerpaints Lemon Sour, which I loved when I first got it. I must not be in a yellow mood today because I hated it so much. On top of that I used Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in Multi-facted. Now I'm probably going to be shot for saying this, but I don't care for glitter on my nails. I prefer a nice subtle shimmer. Over the glitter to complete the jelly sandwich I used Sinful Colors Unicorn followed by seche vite.

If it looks thick, that's because it is. I was starting to get frustrated with painting my nails yellow and I finally just slapped it on and called it a day.

Look at those lobster hands! I'm not going to lie, I took this off immediately after I took these photos. So frustrating. On a lighter note, they had dried only enough that I could easily slide it off and then use a little remover to clean off the residue. I kinda love doing that. Is that weird? But no annoying glitter to have to sand off my nails!

I took this picture when I was still in a good mood. This was my first attempt at a manicure. Sorry for the blurry pic, I took this with my phone instead of my fiance's. But I thought it looked like swiss cheese! and it made me giggle. This happen because I had put dots on my nails and the part that had the semi-wet dots came off before the completely dry Lemon Sour. Behind that you can see my Zoya drawer! (it has more brands than just zoya, but it's too many to list lol)

Have you ever had a day like this? Today I feel like burning anything that is yellow.

Challenge Day 2: A fail already?!?!

Hi ladies! As I said in my last post, (which I apologize for the lack of cleanup, I hadn't noticed the smudges and white-ness around the cuticle until after the photos were on my computer otherwise I would have fixed that) I have been ill the past few days and today I was really not up for actually painting my nails orange. So instead, I will bombard you with bottle spam!

As I have said before. I have a problem with color obsession. I become obsessed with a color, and I need every polish I can find that is that color. Ok that's an exaggeration, but still. I have quite a few oranges.

From the top it's China Glaze Riveting, Sinful Colors Cloud 9, China Glaze Orange You Hot?, Hits Demeter, OPI Chop-sticking to my story, Zoya Paz, Zoya Myrta, Essie Action, Essie Bazooka, Orly Crush on you, Essie Orange, it's Obvious!, and Essie Fear or Desire.

These are my top three! Essie Fear or Desire?  from the Bikini So Teeny Collection, China Glaze Riveting  from the Colors from the Capital collection (a.k.a Hunger Games Collection) and finally Essie  Orange, it's Obvious!  from the Navigate Her Collection

I call this a fail for two reasons: 1) because I did not actually paint my nails orange and 2) because there is no nail art. But this is what you get! Sorry! Hopefully I will feel well enough to paint my nails tomorrow.

How many oranges do you own? What is your favorite?

Check out the other people who did this challenge!!!

Challenge!!! Day 1 Red nails

Hey ladies! As I said in my previous post, I will be doing two challenges simultaneously. The first one is one that was thought up by the lovely Lacquer Dreams where we show our favorite polish for the color theme of the day, in rainbow order. Today is red! Also, I will be participating the the 31 day nail art challenge! So, no just slapping on my favorite color and calling it a day!

I'll tell you what, this was a lot harder than I imagined it would be! But I persisted, and I finally picked OPI Red Lights Ahead...Where? From the Holland collection as my favorite red.

It was raining something fierce today but I managed to snap some decently lighted pictures with my fiance's cell phone. He helped! The lighting inside of my apartment is absolutely terrible. But this color is a bright coral-red. Or a red with a hint of orange in it. It's very vibrant and beautiful.

I remember being on the fence about this color when I actually bought it (I bought the vast majority of the Holland collection. I'm just missing A Roll in the Hauge and Kiss Me on my Tulips) But after I put it on my nails, I could NOT stop staring at them! Please ignore the 9 across the barcode, that was how I previously used to organize my polish. If you see label shots from me, they will probably have a number on them unless I had acquired them in the past couple months.

Of course, since I'm doing the nail art challenge, I added a little something extra.

I started out with a base of Milani White on the Spot and stamped the houndstooth design with BM19 using Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris. I taped off the area that I didn't want the houndstooth design.

Then, after I used some nail polish remover to take off the white that the tape destroyed I painted two coats of the ever so lovely OPI Red Lights Ahead...Where? Also I added a black line to cover up where the red met the white. Followed by Revlon Colorstay topcoat (which I hate. So you might see some smearing, and the  red splotch on my pinkie. And my bottle of topcoat is now pink.Ugh.)

I decided that one color isn't enough, and I wanted to show you my other favorite reds!

China Glaze Ruby Pumps, Deborah Lippman Footloose, and Essie Ole Caliente.

Ruby Pumps is a must have for anyone who collects polish. It's the perfect christmas sparkly red. Footloose replaced my favorite tomato red from Maybelline that I bought when I was like 15. It goes perfectly with my skintone. It's classic. Finally, Essie Ole Caliente is just like Red Lights Ahead...Where? but is slightly brighter (if that was possible) and almost eye-searing. I love them all!

Red usually isn't a color I wear very often but I love these colors. What are your favorite reds? How many reds do you own? Do you like to wear houndstooth on your nails?

Until next time my loves! Tomorrow is orange! Stay tuned!
In the meantime...check out the other lovlies that did this challenge!

Announcement!

Starting this sunday, I will be participating in 2 challeneges (I hope). I know for sure that I will be doing Lacquer Dreams' rainbow themed week of favorites. Using this, I wanted to kick start the 31 day of nail art challenge. She added an extra color, so It will be the 32 day nail art challange for me!

If you want to join in this challenge she invites you to do so on her blog.

Have a great night!

Tribal Nails

Hi Guys! Have you ever hated a trend, or a color, or a finish (etc.) with such a passion that you cringe every time you look at it? Apart from duck feet nails, which will forever be in my "do no execute" file in my brain's filing cabinet,

I usuallly end up loving them later. For example, when I bought Zoya Lo I despised it. Now it's one of my favorite colors! That is how I felt about tribal nails. I thought they looked gaudy and I would never take the time to draw out those lines. Well folks, here I am showing you tribal nails because I've been obsessed with them for the last week!

Aren't they cute?! Not the greatest execution of them, because frankly I haven't gotten the practice in, but still. I can't stop staring at my nails!
For the base I started out with Orly Faint of Heart from the Cool Romance Collection. Then for the lines of color I used China Glaze Aquadelic, Sweet Hook, and Kinetic Candy from the Electropop Collection, and a Color club I got for 99 cents at Walgreen's that I believe is called She's sooo Glam but it did not have a sticker so I can't be completely positive. I used Milani White on the Spot and an Orly black striper for the lines and dots.

How do you feel about tribal nails? Have you done them? Let me see!! I'm really happy about these and the lady who worked at my local Beauty Brands would not stop talking about them! Hope everyone has a great friday!

*I have done some minor editing to these photos. Besides adding in watermarks, I fixed bits of cuticle in order to make the focus on the nail art and not on my work-destroyed cuticles. All nail art though was left completely intact.

Friday NOTD+ a tag!

I think that I'm going to start doing a friday NOTD and a random tag. I will always just find a tag and do it because...well no one knows who I am!!! If you want to tag me in a tag DO IT, just let me know in the comments or email me. One of the two.

While I'm waiting for my crappy iphone picture of my nails to send to my email I will do said tag.

1. What is your favourite nail polish company?
I don't really have one! If I went by how many bottles I had it would probably be China Glaze, but if I went by how often I wear them it would be Essie.
2. Glitter or no glitter?
I have lots of glitters, but I generally tend to wear creams.
3. OPI, China Glaze or Essie?
Eeek why are you making me pick?!?!? I'm probably going to say Essie because most of my favorite polishes are in my Essie collection.
4. When do you change your nail polish?
Too often. Depends on how much I love the color or the nail art. Lately i've been doing them every day and then getting mad at the color or messing them up and then I take it off and redo it. It's irritating actually but I refuse to go without polish.
5. What’s your favourite colour on your nails?
Green, orange, and pink.
6. Darks or brights?
Lately I've been gravitating towards uber bright and neon. During the fall and winter I loved dark polishes and hated brights. My least favorite polish in December and January was Zoya lo, and now it's on my top 10 list.
7. What are you wearing on your nails right at this moment?
OPI Hot Fun in the Summer-Lime. Horrible name...
8. Matte nails, in or out?
I love matte nails on other people, but I usually can't stand it on my own nails.
9. French Manicure?
I don't like it on my own nails. Not even using bright colors.
10. Favourite Summer colours?
I love me some bright colors.  Bright greens and pinks.

Hot Fun in the Summer-lime

My NOTD is OPI Hot Fun in the Summer-Lime.  Two coats and I was good to go. Such a pretty, fun, Bright green. This is from the Too Haute to Handle Collection that's exclusive to Ulta. I hav eheard that this is a dupe for a polish in the Nicole by OPI Justin Bieber collection, but those came out before I started hoarding collecting and besides, I HATE the NOPI bottle.

Do you like tags? What are your favorite tags?

Robyn!
