Challenge day 20 addendum.

Ok. That was rude. I apologize to you fine ladies for my rudeness, but still! First I will tell you the polishes I used: Essie Mojito Madness  and OPI Siberian Nights. All fine and dandy. The first nail I did was my ring finger. I'll post another pic here so you don't have to revert back to my other post.

Ignore the black outlines for now. So I figured that that did not work so well because I didnt have enough purple, so each time I did a bullseye after this I added two drops of Siberian Nights to every Mojito Madness (Sounds like a fun night in Siberia to me). Ok. I enjoyed the psychedelic kind of flower patter on my middle finger, and the pattern on my pointer is also nice. I had an issue taping my nails this time. I taped too close to the actual nail, and the white of my base color was visible. So I thought "add an outline! it'll be somewhat on trend AND it will cover your mistakes" wrong. I ended up with this jumbled mess. FKLDSFKJG. So. I then decided to do some stamping using RA 107 using the same colors and using the same outline technique thinger.

I did have some frustration with the water marbling aspect of this mani, but the problem was with the outlining. It was imposible to clean up...agh. Stupid orly striper.

What are your thoughts on water marbling?

Julep Kate and Mila and Glitter challenge day!

I've made a decision my fine ladies. I'm still going to do the 31 days of a nail art challenge. But at my own pace and in the wrong order. Yes. WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?!?!?! I get to a day in my photos and I say wtf I don't want to do gradient nails today I want to do glitter! (OK that one doesn't happen, despite all the pics of glitter that I have up right now, I don't care for it. But you get the point). Then I sulk for 4 hours and by then it's too late for me to actually do a mani that is worthwhile. So I'm gonna do it when I feel like it. lol. I know that isn't the way it's supposed to go, but with my health and energy levels being up and down I just can't guarantee anything at this point. It will get better and it can always be worse!!!

I know what you're thinking "Is that toilet cleaner in the corner?" yes it is. I had to take these pics in my bathroom because I normally take my photos outside on my neighbors side of the porch, and they were outside ALL FREAKING DAY the day I was taking these pics. They already think I am weird, and I did not want to add to it.

I also know what you're thinking again "God Robyn, learn to clean up your cuticles before you take photos" You are only partially correct. I tried. Oh Lordy I tried. More on that in a bit.

Ok, so on my pointer, middle, and pinky fingers is Julep Kate. Julep calls it a "Soft White Pearl" ehhhhhh. It's white. Not soft. Pearl-y.....if you stare really close in very direct sunlight. It's not what I was expecting at all. Color me disappointed.

On my Thumb and ring finger is Mila. It's kinda pretty...Idk. Not so much into the multicolored glitter really. I have a few. Rarely wear them.Julep Calls it: "Charcoal, multi-colored glitter"...Um...is anyone's actually charcoal? Mine is in a clear base. Did I get the wrong color labeled Mila?

Ok let's talk about application and removal. Application of Mila was fine, the pics above are 2 coats over Kate. Mostly opaque. That is FOUR coats of Kate. FOUR. and it was STILL streaky. Ugh. And taking Kate off was like taking a glitter off. It's a freaking regular polish and I had to scrub vigorously to get one layer off. It was easier to get Mila off, in fact when I was removing those nails I had used the foil method and It took all the glitter off and left Kate. But, I still could not get Mila off of my skin, hence the glitter left around my cuticle. There also was no way a q tip was going to remove Kate.

Overall, disappointed with these two colors. Luckily I did not pay full price for them because of the Julep Maven program.

Did you get these colors? Do I have extremely defective bottles? Should I continue with the Julep Maven program? Idk. I'm disappointed.

Julep Maven Box unboxing

Hello Lovelies! I recieved my second Julep Maven box and I wanted to share with you my experience with getting a real box this month instead of the intro box. Well, it's basically the same! Only this time I got candy! Yay candy!

My polish came in this lovely tissue paper with silver stars (which sparked mani ideas of course) and a cute ribbon that I tied around my ponytail for Fourth of July! Yay recycling!!! It had a card in there that said something about it's your time to sparkle...blah blah. Who cares give me the polish!!!! (is this rude? oh well that's what I was thinking).

A mani idea....yeeaaahhhh...I'll get right on this one. Btw. The color swatch on their promo stuff=way wrong!
plus behind there is a voucher for a free polish. What is a good color for me to get?!?

This is a box it came in. I use these boxes to stamp on. It came with cute red, white, and blue shredded paper crap in it though. Blah blah WHERE'S MY EFFING POLISH?!?!

YAY THE POLISH! *hugs and hugs and hugs* (that's not weird is it?) 

I don't know why Daphne looks like it has a shimmer...or a smudge..I think the label wasn't put on correctly. Despite the promo pictures that is a more accurate representation of that color. Midtone dusty teal. I haven't worn this color as a mani yet, but it was opaque in a thickish coat on a nail wheel!

Mila is exactly as they describe it, a multicolored glitter. The glitters in it are small and slightly more muted than your average multi-colored glitter. Went on regularly and takes 2 coats to become opaque. (Swatches to come later)

Kate. Ah Kate. Typical streaky white. The shimmer was barely visible on the nail, and after 4 coats it was still streaky. Strangely terrible to remove too. Mila was easier to remove....explain that.

America is really neat. The stars are kind of hard to get out of the bottle and I think there are two sizes of blue glitter. The red glitter in it reminds me of China Glaze Ruby Pumps and it also has silver glitter. Let's put some more glitter in that shall we?

I've heard some issues in the facebook group Polish-aholics Anonymous that people aren't getting the correct polish and one lady said that her America did not contain any stars whatsoever. Did you have any problems with your box?

Hi Ladies, I know I'm a new blogger and there aren't that many of you, but I'm going to have to take the next  couple days off (at least today). I work overnights at a mass retail store and my body is not cut out for working overnights. I get about 3 hours of sleep a day and no matter how tired I am, I can not get my mind to shut off enough to sleep during the day. It is even worse when I am in school. So today and quite possibly tomorrow I will be sleeping, or trying to anyway. Please feel free to comment, leave me ideas, request a polish to see from my stash list or tell me a funny joke!

The 31 day nail art challenge will continue when I feel well enough to post again. I'm hoping this doesn't happen anymore, because I enjoy blogging (thus far) and I want to be a reliable person!

Challenge Day 9: Metallic nail fail

Hello Ladies, I'm just gonna say this: I am not feeling the whole metallic nails thing, and I hated this mani. But it's too late to go back and I don't feel like doing this again. Ha! So on to the mani!

"That doesn't look very metallic, Robyn" You're right. It doesn't in these pics. It looked more metallic in real life, and honestly I should have left the crackle off. I was going for a look I saw on a Sephora pinterest video about the Betsey Johnson nail polish collection and It would have worked if my nails were longer...and pointier...I wish I could find that video. 

I thought I had more photos of this, but I guess not. Anywho, I used Wet N Wild Precious Petals on my thumb and Pinky, Penny For Your Toughts on my pointer and thumb and Got a New Com-pewter (I dont understand how computers or the word pewter fit in with this vivid green...) on my middle finger. All of those wet n wild polishes are from the new chrome collection. Then I sponged NYC Tribeca Silver on the tips and followed up with Sally Hansen Ink Splatter  for the crackle. The pink nail in real life was really pretty. Everything else...blealksdjfglhru.

The Wet N Wild Chrome collection I bought at wal-greens, and I wish I wouldn't have. I only bought these three colors but I will probably never wear them. They are too expensive for a drug store polish that size. The application was great. I only needed 1 coat. They stamp okay too. Nothing spectacular as they are slightly see through when stamped. It's similar to stamping with Orly Luxe if you own that polish. I really wanted the Wet N Wild stars and stripes collection, but we never got it here.

What is your worst fail art? This isn't my worst, but I'm not liking it. I should have just stuck with the pink and silver and do an Effie Trinket kind of manicure.

On a side note, I keep trying to type every word with the first letter capitalized. lol.

Challenge Day 8: Black and White nails

Hello Ladies! I have moved from the rainbow favorites week into the normal 31 day nail art challenge! Today is the black and white challenge. I was dreading this to begin with, I could not think of anything. But I randomly saw a sidepost on a blog that I read, I wish I could remember which one, that showed someone who did a mani similar to my thumb, middle, and pinky fingers (if not exact, if that was your blog, please let me know so I can give proper credit!) and then for my other two fingers I got inspiration from this post on pinterest and I wanted to recreate that look. My first attempt failed. My nails are just too small for that. so then I decided on this. 

I have no idea why I look so red, so just ignore that and the straggly nail polish on my cuticle. But here it is! I loved this so much I did not want to take it off!

For the base on my ring, pointer, and part of my thumb and pinky I used Wet N Wild Megalast Break the Ice and on the rest of my fingers is Wet N Wild Ebony Hates Chris (fun fact: every time I type Ebony Hates Chris I usually type "Christ" eek!! Learn to type Robyn!) and then I applied the Rhinestones to my pinky, thumb and middle fingers. To make the rhinestones on my ring and pointer finger black I just painted over the rhinestones with my black. You can see where I nicked it onto the white on this photo, I went and fixed it on the photo above, but I forgot to check for it on this picture.

I really love the far away shot, despite my ring being crooked (it's always crooked...in fact it is right now..lol). I think that this would look even more fantastic on longer nails, but I had to trim my nails down to super nubbins due to an unfortunate accident with a utility knife at work. I had accidentally cut my thumb from the base of my actual finger all the way up, through my nail (but not into the skin beneath, explain that one..), leaving my nail pretty much split in two. So I've had to keep my thumb super short so that I did not rip it in half or off completely. It was really annoying. But they are finally grown out so now I don't have to cut my nails again unless one of them breaks, which inevitably it does.
